Location

We are in the heart of the Kalahari, bordering the Central Kalahari Game Reserve; about 3 hours drive from Deception Valley . The nearest village is Rakops, about 1hour 45 minute drive to the east and the most popular shopping facilities are at Maun, about 2 hours 30 minutes drive further north.

Road connections:

The most obvious and practical route from the South is via Rakops. The last refueling stop on the main tar road is at Mopipi, after Letlhakane and before Rakops. Haina Kalahari’s turn off is 23kms passed the Rakops tower (Do not take the Central Kalahari Game Reserve Turn off which is just past the Rakops turn off) . Turn left at the “Haina Kalahari Lodge” signboard and follow the cut line for +/- 75 km to Haina Kalahari Lodge. You pass through Kuke Corner Veterinary gate.

***Please take note that Mopipi is the last trust worthy fuel supply, where there is diesel and unleaded petrol. Your next fuel stop is Maun.

Route via Maun:

From Maun follow road to Makalamabedi. Turn of +/- 52 km from Maun. Turn right before Makalamabedi Veterinary fence (see Haina sign). This is the best option if you carry meat. Drive along the veterinary fence line to Kuke gate. Turn right along the Central Kalahari Game Reserve fence line for approximately 22 km. If you do not carry meat, continue through the Veterinary Fence Gate and turn sharp right passed the Police base and carry on along the fence line up to the Kuke gate. Enter through the Kuke gate and follow the fence line. Drive along the CKGR fence line until you find the Haina sign. Turn right at Haina Kalahari Lodge sign.

Route from Namibia / via Ghanzi:

From Ghanzi: Take the tar toad towards Maun. Turn right directly after Kuke Vetinary fence and drive along the cutline fence towards the east. Follow 2 spoor sand road adjacent to Central Kalahari Game Reserve for 130 km to the Haina Kalahari Lodge signboard on your left.
